Trekx Exhibition, Beijing

I was asked to take part in an exhibition called Trekx which was sponsored by Anywalk Trainers. My work is a response to the self imposed title 'The Findings of an Imagination Exploration'.

Below is a selection of the work created. The first is called Specimens which a collection of paper objects in jars. I wanted to explore the notion of capturing ideas and objects that you usually wouldn’t be able to. The wooden totem was inspired by the ceramics I came across during a trip to Cyprus. Every block was hand cut by myself (hence the wonkyness). The Jungle collage was an A2 print made of three collages that were cut and layered to add depth. In the last two I wanted to explore connection and separation. I did this through playing around with stings that weaved in between the two images via wormholes.

The exhibition opened at the Truman Brewery in June '11 and then moved to The Village in Beijing for the last week of August '11. Other exhibitors included Container Plus, Emily forgot and EB Hu.
